About

A lifetime Burien resident, Charles has been involved in the community since serving on the Burien teen council while in high school.

Charles attended Salmon Creek, Sunnydale, and Shorewood elementary schools, Sylvester Middle School, and Highline High School where he ran cross country and track and participated in knowledge bowl, the math team, and Future Business Leaders of America where he placed 8th nationally in parliamentary procedure and placed at the state level in global business, economics, business law, and business math.

Charles studied accounting and economics at the University of Washington and currently does accounting for several local businesses and non-profits. He is often the only member of the public to offer testimony at city budget hearings and fiscally responsible city government is one of his top priorities.

When he isn’t running for office, Charles can be found three days a week volunteering at Transform Burien, a local ministry that provides food, clothing, and other resources to our unhoused and low-income neighbors. Charles also volunteers at the Burien Severe Weather Shelter and as treasurer for the Burien / White Center Community Support Network. Additionally, Charles officiates at monthly bible quiz tournaments for teenagers and was awarded Quizmaster of the Year in 2010, 2017, and 2019.
